…when you Attend a Primary Parents’ Evening.
The Situation
Primary Parents’ Evenings help us share how your child is progressing across all areas of their learning and wellbeing. It’s also a chance to hear your views and strengthen our partnership.
What We’ll Do
- Contact you two weeks before the parents’ evening to share information about our online booking system. This allows you to book an appointment with your child’s teacher at a time that suits you.
- Offer a 10-minute appointment with your child’s class teacher.
- Share updates on learning, effort, friendships, and wellbeing.
- Talk about next steps and answer any questions you have.
- Provide a welcoming environment to support open conversations.
- Parents’ Evening appointments take place in our Open Area. Following your appointment, you can visit your child’s classroom and view their work.
How We’ll Support Your Child
- Use the meeting to celebrate their strengths and set targets for improvement.
- Ensure your child knows we’re working together to help them succeed.
- Offer follow-up support if concerns are raised.
How You Can Support at Home
- Talk with your child before and after the meeting.
- Bring any questions or insights you have—your voice matters.
- Use the feedback to support learning in a calm, encouraging way.
- Keep the conversation going with us if anything is unclear.
- Support your child by asking about their learning. Support them to read as much as possible.
