Meanwhile, Jenette McCurdy’s Half His Age delivers a bittersweet, thrilling tale about life’s unexpected antics. George Saunders’ upcoming novel, Vigil, unwraps the story of Jill Blaine, also known as “Doll”—a formerly alive person now tasked with escorting dying souls, blending Saunders’ signature wit with a haunting exploration of mortality.

On the big screen, there’s plenty to look forward to:
- The Rip: A gritty Netflix action-thriller directed by Joe Carnahan, starring Ben Affleck and Matt Damon as Miami-Dade narcotics cops who stumble into a tense, greed-fuelled showdown after discovering millions in cash during a drug raid.
- Return to Silent Hill: Serving as an adaptation of the Silent Hill 2 video game and a reboot of the film series, this horror reboot is directed by Christophe Gans and stars Jeremy Irvine and Hannah Emily Anderson.
- Goat Will: A heartwarming and fast-paced story about a small goat determined to become a pro player in “Roarball,” a full-contact animal sport, proving that underdogs can triumph against fierce predators.
Shows
Television also promises some unmissable adventures:
- Young Sherlock: Follow a 19-year-old, unfiltered Sherlock at Oxford University as he navigates a murder case intertwined with a global conspiracy.
- A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: Centered on Dunk (Peter Claffey), a strapping naïf also known as Ser Duncan the Tall, and his spectacularly bald squire, Egg (Dexter Sol Ansell), this show brings the beloved Westeros prequel stories to life with adventure, humor, and heart.
- Dexter: Resurrection: Dexter Morgan wakes from a coma after being shot by his son, Harrison, only to find Harrison missing in New York City. Dexter embarks on a journey to find him, confront his past, and navigate a new dark society, all while Angel Batista seeks answers, exploring deeper themes of family, legacy, and morality in the “city that never sleeps.”
