Last week and this week, several new airlines and routes have launched from Glasgow Airport, marking the beginning of the airport’s busy summer schedule. Here is everything you need to know about the latest transatlantic additions — and how to book your next getaway.
Last week saw the return of United Airlines to Glasgow on a seasonal basis for the summer, with daily flights to New York City. The route offers travellers more flexibility than ever, and with daily departures, even a quick city break suddenly feels possible. Flights can be booked through the United Airlines website or via the airline’s app if you are tempted by a trip to the Big Apple.
This week will also see the return of WestJet to Glasgow. From May 16th, the airline will launch flights to Toronto, competing directly with fellow Canadian carrier Air Transat, which already serves the route. WestJet will operate flights four times per week, while Air Transat will offer six weekly services, giving passengers plenty of options when travelling between Scotland and Canada.
Flights can be booked through the WestJet website or the Air Transat website.
Hopefully this quick transatlantic guide from Glasgow Airport helps inspire your next trip across North America — and perhaps even a future World Cup adventure.
