Kenny Dalglish League – June 2
It was an action-packed match in Dalry on Tuesday as the North Ayrshire side took on Bellfield Royals.
Both teams started brightly, creating several chances in a frantic opening period. However, it was Dalry who broke the deadlock when Liam T found the back of the net to make it 1-0.
Dalry soon took control of the game and doubled their advantage. A ball played down the left wing was collected by Liam T, who delivered an excellent cross for Caelan to force home and make it 2-0.
The third goal came from some superb team play, with Lennon finishing off the move by calmly slotting the ball into the net.
Bellfield began the second half with greater urgency and were unlucky not to score early on. Goalkeeper Callum produced an outstanding diving save to keep Dalry’s three-goal lead intact.
As the half progressed, Liam T struck again. Pouncing on a ball over the top, he shrugged off his defender, drove into the penalty area and smashed a shot past the advancing goalkeeper to make it 4-0.
Dalry’s fifth goal arrived in similar fashion. Another ball over the top saw Liam T outpace his marker before delivering a cross for Michael, who headed home to extend the lead to 5-0.
With the game seemingly won, Dalry became slightly complacent in the closing stages, allowing Bellfield to pull two goals back. However, the home side still ran out comfortable 5-2 winners.
