Garnock Community Campus is to play an important role in an intimate tour of Scottish Opera’s Hansel and Grete; this month.
On Tuesday, October 20 Scottish Opera will bring Hansel and Gretel to the campus as part of a 34 date tour of small venues.
It offers people the chance to enjoy opera on their doorsteps.
Scottish Opera is bringing the fairytale to life with tickets costing only £6 for under 26-year-olds and £20 for adults.
Humperdinck’s Hansel & Gretel is a story that speaks to all of us: two children, lost and hungry in a darkening forest, summoning every scrap of courage and wit to outsmart a very wicked witch indeed.
This beautifully crafted five-singer production, directed byLucy Bradley is accompanied by an intimate piano arrangement and it strips the opera back to its storytelling heart.
It featues an exciting cast including many current and previous Emerging Artists and, at select venues, a local children’s chorus bring this fairy tale to life.
Whether you are a lifelong opera lover or coming along for the very first time, prepare to be enchanted.
