Pupils and staff of the campus joined together on Friday to say goodbye to deputy head teacher Mr Scott.
There were tears all round as stories of his career which spanned almost 40 years were shared.
And pupils lined up at lunchtime to wish him well and recount tales from his time at Garnock where he started alongside his fellow depute, Mr Duff, in 2004 at the former Garnock Academy campus.
At break time it was time for the staff to hear all about his career as Mr Duff, his partner in crime, as he was called, shared some interesting stories about their time
Mr Duff told the busy staffroom: “I will miss my friend and the school will miss a teacher who believes in the good of all the pupils.
“We can learn a lot from Mr Scott and I know I have learned a lot over the years from him and I wish him a long and happy retirement.”
S5 pupil Dylan Gardner was among the students who will miss Mr Scott. He said: “He is a cool guy and he has helped a lot of us at school, I think he was surprised when I handed over his gift from the S5 year as we had all signed a yearbook for him and gave him a mug that said ‘legend’.”
Mr Scott spent the day saying goodbye to his colleagues and pupils and said: “It’s been lovely to see everyone, these young people have a lot to offer and it’s been good to see them all again.
“We have a great school here.”
