The canteen has been at the heart of the school community for decades and is the busiest place in the campus all year round, especially during special occasions including Burns’ Night and of course, Christmas treats. Here, I look at the most popular items on sale at the canteen.
Paninis
The cheese panini was the highest rated food from the canteen and the most purchased item from reports of S1 pupils. The cheese panini is made with toasted bread with mixed cheese however, some pupils love the other version of the panini – the chicken tikka. They also have different wraps so you are spoiled.
Chicken Goujons
There are two to choose from and the most popular are chicken goujons inside a wrap. The goujons have a golden brown coating on the chicken and are cooked perfectly. Pupils say that this is the second favourite dish on the menu.
Pizza
The pizza! All children is dream about square pizza. It is the third most popular lunch, with it’s golden brown bread and tomato sauce with drippy cheese on square dough. It’s cheesy goodness!
The Sides
The canteen has salads or baked potatoes and burgers and sandwiches. Plenty for you to choose from!
