S4 pupil Ethan Sledge is a committed amateur dramatic enthusiast, you may recognise him Monsinieru O’Hara in the 2026 production of Sister Act. He is also a member of Paisley drama club PACE.
This year he has also written his first play, Life Goals, performed by the PACE team.

For the past couple of months, I have been writing my show called Life Goals and this how I did it for redrafting the show
My inspiration for the show was a short film called retirement plan; it follows Ray was he fantasises about every from organises his pantry to living by the seaside. In my show the plot follows Howard sitting on a park bench with man called Rufus together they come Howard’s grief of losing Fiona (his wife) to the cost-of-living crisis.
When it came to re-drafting this piece I thought about having a closing monologue about grief in a symbolic way before the epilogue I spoke to my English teacher Miss Howard about my idea and the way I would symbolise this was birds one day during news desks I decided to talk to Miss Howard about this and we watched the birds and we came up which really worked perfectly for the play.
I wanted to share this article to help anyone reading who struggles with confidence in their writing, I say have faith in yourself and keep going, you will get there, you will see your production on stage – I believe in you!
