Garnock Community Campus had a very successful day at the All Ayrshire Athletics finals.

The school had 27 pupils qualify to compete at Riverside Arena in Ayr, Liam Taylor was injured so had to miss this competition.

And of those 27 pupils the runners managed to pick up a total of 16 medals!

The winners were:

  • Skye Williams (S1) – Silver 800m, Gold 1500m
  • Ellin Shephard (S3) – Silver 800m, Bronze High Jump
  • Lexi McConnell (S3)- Gold 100m in 12.7s! , Silver 200m
  • Abbie Nimmo (S2) – Bronze in Discus
  • Ewan Burns (S2) – Silver 300m
  • Jack Boyce (S3) – Silver Triple Jump
  • Harris McNally – Silver 300m, Bronze Long Jump
  • Jamie Hoynes – Silver Triple Jump

Silver in the S3 Girls relay, with the team of Emma Varini, Myleene McVey, Ellin Shephard and Lexi McConnell.

Mr Vernon said: “These are outstanding achievements as they are against every school from North, East and South Ayrshire.

“Our pupils really are a credit to themselves and the school. They left their seating area absolutely spotless and displayed exemplary behaviour. Well done to all the medal winners and also those who qualified for the finals.”
