School Routine Ideas
Good habits help you relax by not having to think about the little things all the time , so routines are great for helping you make the most of your day. If you are thinking about setting up a new routine for school, here are some quick ideas for you:
In the morning – 1 hour total:
- Wake up, stretch, and drink water- 5 minutes
- Skincare routine – 7 minutes
- Get dressed – 7 minutes
- Hair and makeup ( if you wear it) – 20 minutes
- Breakfasts – 15 minutes
- Brush teeth – 5 minutes
- Head out the door – 1 minute
In the evening – 6.5 hours total:
- Get home
- Empty bag – 5 minutes
- Have a healthy snack – 10 minutes
- Exercise ( optional) – 30 minutes
- Wash – 20 minutes
- Skincare – 10 minutes
- Put on comfy clothes – 5 minutes
- Do homework – 1 hour
- Have dinner – 40 minutes
- Do chores – 20 minutes
- Relax/ have free time – 45 minutes
- Brush teeth – 5 minutes
- Plan your outfit for the next day – 10 minutes
- Pack your school bag – 10 minutes
- Phone-free chill time e.g. read a book, journal – 2 hours
- Sleep – start winding down around 9:45 for a 10:00 bedtime
Remember habits don’t happen overnight! Making small, gradual changes and sticking to them is key. So be kind to yourself if it takes a while to get used to the changes and enjoy the amazing feeling when things start to feel like a routine.
