Staying Safe on Bonfire Night

Bonfire night is an extremely exciting time where you see firework displays and you run around with sparklers, but there are a few things you must remember to stay safe on this night.

Number One

Fireworks. To keep safe around fireworks you must stay away from them and do not touch them. You should ask an adult to help you light the fireworks.

Number Two

Sparklers. Sparklers are a fun thing for you to make shapes with and to keep kids occupied. NEVER touch a sparkler top because they can get up to 1600 degrees which is around 16 times higher than a kettle when it boils.

Number Three

Water. Ensure the adults around you always keep a bucket of water with you when you are making bonfires and fireworks. Bonfires are more important as you need to put them out at some point.

Number Four

Bonfires. This is a big part of bonfire night but the most dangerous out of sparklers and fireworks as in high winds they can go mental. Let adults take care of carefully making the bonfires and keep aerosols away because they can cause explosions.

Bonfire night is an amazing time for firework displays, but you should really go to an organised display.
