You may have seen that the Grammys happened recently, and I’m here to discuss the winners, nominees, and my overall thoughts on the night.
Best Album
The first of the main four categories is Album of the Year. The nominees were:
- Bad Bunny — DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS
- Justin Bieber — SWAG
- Sabrina Carpenter — Man’s Best Friend
- Clipse, Pusha T & Malice — Let God Sort Em Out
- Lady Gaga — MAYHEM
- Kendrick Lamar — GNX
- Leon Thomas — MUTT
- Tyler, the Creator — Chromakopia
Winner: Bad Bunny, making history as the first Spanish-language album to win.
Best Song
Next is Song of the Year. The nominees were:
- Lady Gaga – “Abracadabra”
- ROSÉ & Bruno Mars – “APT.”
- Billie Eilish – “WILDFLOWER”
- Kendrick Lamar & SZA – “Luther”
- Doechii – “Anxiety”
- Huntr/x – “Golden” (from KPop Demon Hunters)
- Sabrina Carpenter – “Manchild”
- Bad Bunny – “DtMF”
Winner: Wildflower by Billie Eilish, even though it was released in 2023.
Best Record
For Record of the Year, the nominees were:

Finally, Best New Artist nominees were:

Winner: Olivia Dean
My Thoughts
Personally, I thought the Grammys were disappointing this year. I can’t agree that Wildflower was the best song—Luther should have won. I also don’t think Olivia Dean deserved Best New Artist; The Marías would have been a better choice. On the other hand, Bad Bunny, Kendrick Lamar, and SZA winning in their categories was spot-on.
