Seachdain na Gàidhlig 2026

Seachdain na Gàidhlig 2026 will take place from February 23rd to March 1st. This year’s timing is perfect, as Celtic Connections has just ended, and several new Gaelic music festivals are starting, including Black Isle Calling, Inbhir-nis Feis Ceol, and Feis Rois. Planning for HebCelt 2026, held on the Isle of Lewis in July, has also begun.

This year’s slogan for Seachdain na Gàidhlig is ‘Ceall i no, caill i’, which translates as ‘use it or lose it’. It has been advertised on social media pages like Bòrd na Gàidhlig and promoted by artists including Joy Dunlop, Arthur Cormack, and Julie Fowlis.

The festival will celebrate Gaelic culture across multiple platforms, including television channels BBC ALBA, STV, and BBC Scotland.

On BBC ALBA, Seachdain na Gàidhlig will feature songs, Gaelic comedy shows, and a brand-new, and the only, Gaelic game show called ‘Mas Fhìor!’.
